What is Digital Transformation?
As it is becoming an increasingly popular buzz-phrase, we have come up with our own definition for the Education sector:
“Digital Transformation is a continually evolving programme of technology change to provide a new and improved education delivery experience, whilst fully engaging your teaching staff and office teams along this journey”.
Creating a Digital
Transformation Plan
With over 15 years of experience creating Digital Transformation Plans in many different industries and Education sectors, the single most important lesson we have learned is that the journey for every educational organisation is different. Yes, there are often common themes and solutions but the combination of history, future plans, risks and opportunities are what creates unique challenges to address. Only by spending time in gaining a thorough understanding of what exists today and where our clients would like to get to, can we help bring such a plan together.
Option 1
Targeted Technology Audit
This approach is best suited to an organisation with a very specific area of focus such as a cyber threat risks, end of life/problematic software or upcoming major investment in infrastructure. To ensure we prioritise the key areas of interest, we follow an audit led approach and you can pick and choose from the following in any combination:
Each Audit will include
Cyber Security
Audit
- As is documentation
- Risk assessment and opportunities for improvement
- Recommended solutions to be explored
- Quick wins and programme of works to deliver improvements
IT Network Infrastructure
- As is documentation
- Risk assessment and opportunities for improvement
- Recommended solutions to be explored
- Quick wins and programme of works to deliver improvements
Applications and Devices
- As is documentation

Option 2
Full Technology Strategy Review
For organisations looking to move away from making disparate technology decisions and have a more joined up approach, we recommend setting out a much wider brief. This is our strategy led approach that follows our established Digital Transformation methodology:
Step 1
Understand
Strategy session with Leadership Team and Board to understand the current challenges and risks, key areas of improvement and the future ambitions and goals for the organisation.
Step 2
ask
We recognise that teachers, office staff, pupils and parents will all be significantly impacted by the technology decisions made by the organisation and we always recommend giving the opportunity for all to have their say.
Step 3
discover
Detailed "As is" audits, risk assessments, analysis and recommendations. This will encompass all the audits described in Option 1.
Step 4
plan
The output from the above will ultimately be a Digital Transformation plan that supports your strategic education goals and future business plan objectives.
How can we help bring the plan to life?
Unlike other consultancy-only organisations, we don’t create some fancy PowerPoint slides and just sail off into the sunset. We are here for the long haul and work with many of our schools and education establishments making the plan happen in the following ways:
- Overseeing the programme governance, providing communications updates, validating return on investment and tracking progress of the Digital Transformation Plan.
- Using our experience across many technology specialisms we can also work with your existing IT teams to deliver the projects identified. Whether it be project management, technical expertise, extended support or a virtual CTO, we can fit into any gaps you have.
SECURE PARAMETERS
Delivering the latest firewall, filtering, endpoint and antivirus security, providing network and data protection.
THREAT MANAGEMENT
We work with you to audit, test and monitor your cyber defences, underpinned with robust response services.
DISASTER RECOVERY
Ensuring school IT systems are swiftly and fully restored following an incident to maintain continuity and security.
